Project Manager

Construction Project Manager

Franklin’s Earthmoving, Inc., EEOC, is looking for a well-versed project manager to join its construction project management team. This individual will play a vital role in the construction process and will be responsible for working with both development and construction partners. This person will be expected to successfully deliver construction projects from start to finish and will be responsible for ensuring they are done safely, on schedule and within budget. Position skills include, but are not limited to:

·Thorough understanding of construction methods and project management

·Robust knowledge of project planning, designing and executing a construction project

·Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

·Sound knowledge about safety standards and requirements

The Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

·Ensure that project safety measures are maintained at all times

·Maintain & complete all project paperwork, permits, and licenses as necessary

·Work with the pre-construction team to understand project requirements & budgets

·Assist the pre-construction team with the development of the overall project schedule

·Purchase various subcontractor and supplier packages that are in-line with the project budget

·Manage the submittal, RFI, and change order processes during the construction phase

·Coordinate work between project subcontractors

·Participate in weekly project planning and look-ahead meetings

·Visit the project site on a frequent basis

·Regularly review estimated budgets versus actual costs to confirm a project’s profitability

·Provide project updates on safety, budget, and schedule

·Effectively close-out projects

Education and experience requirements:

·A minimum of 7-years working experience in the civil construction industry working for commercial, residential subdivisions and public work projects

·Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferable

·Experience with MS Project, MS Office, MS Excel

·OSHA 10 safety training or willingness to obtain

Safety Manager

About the Position:

Safety and Compliance Officer will report to Safety Director. This role will be responsible for assisting Safety Director in day to day functions of jobsite safety management including but not limited to training and orientation of field personnel, traffic control, accident report forms, MSHA, OSHA and Pipeline Safety Bureau training, reporting and interface, calling 311 Line Spots, etc. The Safety and Compliance Officer will work side by side with the Safety Director, Project Managers, Foremen and Division Superintendents on a daily basis to assist in and carry out the responsibilities of the safety department and must have the capability to manually complete any activity.

Safety and Compliance Officer will be responsible for the following:

· Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. · Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Supervisor, Safety Manager and/or Human Resources Manager. · Make decisions with the assistance of the director regarding safety on a daily basis. · Provide safety training and orientation to New Hires. · Shall protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities. · Call line spots and keep a log of activities. · Visit and monitor job sites safety, and keeping employees, equipment and public safe · Assist Safety Director in other projects and duties as assigned.

Experience

· 5 or more years of related experience in construction site safety and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. · Prior experience with MSHA and OSHA Regulations, Pipeline Safety Bureau, Line Spots, Traffic Control. · Possess the ability to identify jobsite safety hazards. · Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant. · Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback. · High standard of ethics, integrity and trust. · Must be able to pass pre -employment criminal background check. · Must possess a valid driver’s license. · Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook. · Moderate travel required; must be willing to work in or travel to other locations as needed. · Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours. · Must be able to work independently and with groups. · Must be able to work under time constraints as needed. · Must display a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors and general public at all times.

Position Summary

The primary function of the Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist is to manage the accounts payable processes of Franklin’s Earthmoving, Inc., including vendors, subcontractors and employee expense reports, while assisting the Controller with various accounting and administrative tasks to support the achievement of company goals. The A/P Specialist must have good social skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, capable of multitasking, have general knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures, and have a good understanding of the accounts payable function.


Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the full cycle accounts payable functions, including:

·         Review invoices and pay applications, attach supporting documentation as required, and reconcile purchase orders to invoices received to ensure accuracy and completeness. ·         Accurately and timely process invoices, pay applications, credit memos by coding, entering and routing them for approval within the accounting system. ·         Prepare and process weekly payment batches for subcontractors, vendors, and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely payment ·         Reconciling monthly supplier statements ·         Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email ·         Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures ·         Issue Purchase Orders (POs) to Foreman, Project Managers, Project Coordinators or Admin, as requested ·         Research and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors or subcontractors ·         Assist with month-end close ·         Complete vendor and subcontractor credit applications and obtain approval from the Controller or CFO, prior to submission ·         Setting up new vendors or subcontractors in ERP system and obtaining necessary documents; W9 and ACH/bank details ·         Reconciling and reviewing AP aging monthly, including following up to closing any open AP invoices ·         Accurately process and file annual Form 1099s in compliance with applicable IRS requirements and deadlines ·         Administer the subcontractor compliance process, including the collection, review and maintenance of lien waivers, certificate of insurance and certified payroll records ·         Assist Receptionist with front desk duties, including but not limited to answering phones and greeting office visitors ·         Managing payment schedules according to vendor agreements ·         Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the accounts payable function ·         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

·         High School Diploma or GED required ·         At least 3 years of progressive accounts payable experience in the Construction Industry is required ·         Strong understanding of construction accounting principles ·         MS Office Proficiency required ·         Strong communication and leadership skills ·         Ability to prioritize tasks, receive guidance and work independently, be action-oriented, understand key objectives ·         Meet accounting timelines and display ethics and values in all actions ·         Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and E-Verify validation

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Trimble Spectrum is a plus
  • Some college, Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The Accounts Payable Specialist primarily works in a professional office environment and is routinely required to perform administrative and computer-based tasks. The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a desk, computer, or other office equipment.

The employee must be able to occasionally walk, bend, reach, stoop, and file documents. The position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling office supplies, files, and other materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, calculator, telephone, and other standard office equipment is required.
